Step 3: Downloading Age of Empires Online

Note: Below is a description on how to install through Steam. An alternative installer can be found at here. This skips all Steam related actions and you can continue to the next step, but this installer has limited daily bandwidth. The downloaded archive is compressed to save diskspace. You need Winrar or equivelent to unpack the archive.

It is assumed you installed all software needed from the previous section and you are now ready to install the game. Well in order to download the game we needed to install the Steam client, and yes you would need to create a steam account aswell if you diden't have one yet. By default steam will download the game to a folder within the steam installation path. In orde to change the default download location you should head over to:

Steam > Settings > Downloads > Steam Library Folders

For example if you want to add D:\Games\ as installation folder you can make it the default one by right clicking the folder you wish to use as default.

In order to install the game click the button below:

Install Age of Empires Online

Well done, you now downloaded Age of Empires Online!

Step 4: Install custom launcher

So as we installed the game now we would now need to download and install the custom launcher. You can find the latest version in our download section:

Now go to the folder where you installed the game to, it should be something like:

D:\Games\steamapps\common\Age Of Empires Online

And hit Control + V. A window will popup aksing you to overwrite files.

After the files have been overwritten it should look like this:

Well now we would need to get or cool desktop icon, so look for Celeste_Launcher_Gui.exe and right click it. Copy To > Desktop (Shortcut).
